What We Do

The Saint Lucia High Commission in London is the diplomatic representation of the Government of Saint Lucia to the United Kingdom. It is strategically placed in one of the most important political and economic capitals of the world, and its mandate spans a complex array of relations – diplomatic (covering bilateral and multilateral) relations, international economic relations, consular and community relations. Saint Lucia and the United Kingdom have strong historical and constitutional ties, and the High Commission is tasked with working to develop and strengthen the relationship into a mutually beneficial partnership.

The High Commission’s focus also involves the enhancement of relations with international organizations within the United Kingdom and Europe, as well as countries within the European space. The High Commission is accredited to the French Republic (France) as well as to the World Trade Organization (WTO), Le Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and the Commonwealth of Nations.

The High Commission is committed to cultivating relationships between Saint Lucia and new and emerging country partners, and to promoting the interests of the country in those international organisations in which it has membership.

The High Commission also seeks to continually engage with the Saint Lucian diaspora in the United Kingdom and the wider European space to help to develop and strengthen its capacity to sustain itself, to assist in developing and strengthening its relationship with the Homeland, and to assist in its efforts to contribute meaningfully to the country’s development.
